Hope comes in all forms. Our hope just happens to have muzzles, manes, and tails -four-legged friends that help to bring trust, love, and loyalty back to a heart that was once broken.
When you are on a horse, all your worries seem to melt away. For one moment you can just “be”. It might be one of God’s little time-outs, a break from real life that God gives so that, if it’s hard for you to come to Him, He will come close and, in a whisper, meet you. It may be in a gentle nudge from a horse’s muzzle, or the sheer freedom you feel mounting up on a gentle steed and trotting away. But God speaks to us all the time. Loud or soft, He is there.
Our programs are designed for either individuals or small groups. We do series and one-time-visits.
For our one-time visits we offer one-on-one mentorships. The young person is paired up with one horse and one volunteer. This team of three then work together to confront obstacles and hurtful experiences that have wounded the child.
For our small groups, there are many exercises that are tailored to assist the group with their particular needs. Each exercise is designed to teach life skills and to improve decision making skills.
For our one-time visits, we offer horseback riding, horsemanship lessons, community event participation and/or volunteer opportunities.
